Inside Jazz is set to take you on an adventure that you won’t soon forget – we’re going to take you deep Inside Jazz.

If you’re new to the world of Internet Radio, then relax – virtually everyone is new, including the people who make the hardware and software that lets you listen to music over your PC.

This is a very simple explanation of how it works and what you have to do to listen to the absolutely very best live jazz in the world. It’s written so even your mom can understand it, so we all have a shot at getting it to work. Believe me, it’s worth it. (read a few unsolicited listener comments…)

Here is a list of the four very simple things that you need to experience incredible live jazz in your home or office:

  • First:  You need a good connection to the Internet.
    • If you're condemned to dialup, we feel your pain. It's tough to be stuck in a yellow tablet and #2 pencil world when the rest of the globe is moving to fiber optics. For the best experience you should have either DSL or Cable. Something fast! It’s the New Millennium! Stop making excuses and do it. It’ll change your life.
       
  • Second:   You need a compatible player installed on your machine.
    • Inside Jazz is compatible with most of the standard media players, but you have to have the latest version. Currently we highly recommend Winamp 5 or above. It’s the smallest, easiest to install and use, and it works great every time. Plus it won’t try to take over your life like most other players do.
    • You can also use Windows Media Player 9 or above, Real Player 10 or above, or I-tunes and a few others. While some other  players may work, they are all controlled by pretty independent thinkers. Winamp is the hands-down way to go on this.
    • If you have Winamp 5, it’s easy to listen to the Inside Jazz High Definition audio stream – and that’s why you’re here!
    • You won’t loose a thing, and you’ll be gaining Inside Jazz. By using one of the above players, you are assured that your player supports authentication. This is required to access our Unlimited High Definition Membership Stream.
    • You don't have to download one of 'our' players, and you don't have to subject yourself to any advertising while you enjoy Inside Jazz.
    • If you are having trouble with Windows Media Player (the default audio player that ships with all Windows operating systems,) please don't feel alone. It is intermittent even on a good day. Once you get it set up, it's easy to bookmark and then pull it up with a single click.
       
  • Third:   You need a good audio monitoring setup.
    • Those $3 ‘speakers’ that came wrapped like a fortune cookie with your PC will rob you of the enjoyment that you deserve.
    • Get a good power amp and some great speakers. Then plug them into that little green hole on the back of your PC and ‘Stand Back Jack.’
    • The digital audio that you will hear on the High Definition Streams is unbelievable. You hear what we hear! Don’t squander all the sweat and effort and unbelievable amount of time that we have put into creating this excellent music by listening to it on crummy-sounding speakers.
    • You’ll hear crystal clear cymbals, and punchy bass and drums – oh, plus that smooth aesthetic ambient artsy stuff too.
       
  • Additionally:   You may want to consider becoming an Inside Jazz member…
    • The costs of bandwidth are still through the roof (We think they’re pumping it from Saudi Arabia), and you are taking a huge stream of data into your PC as you listen to Inside Jazz Radio in High Definition. This really adds up in a hurry.
